Full Moon in Leo

The Native Americans called this the Wolf Moon. Does the lone wolf howl at the Moon as the lion roars at the Sun? Leo rules the heart and is associated with the Sun. I like to think of this Full Moon as a night of Fun!
All the world's a stage and we all play our part in it. Leo wants to be in the spotlight and receive attention. Some of us will create drama in our lives in order to feel the recognition that we need. It is a fire sign that can make us somewhat restless and frisky.
For me, it is more of a celebration of the One Heart that beats and loves us all unconditionally on this magickal and mysterious tour between birth and death. Love is the absence of fear, so be fearless. To have courage literally translates to have heart. It takes courage to risk being hurt when dealing with affairs of the heart. If you want to be loved, then love. Some people are too proud to risk wearing their heart upon their sleeve. They claim that they have been hurt and betrayed too many times and are unwilling to open their heart chakra center. They would rather be stubborn and allow that proverbial thorn in the lion's paw to keep them wounded and ferocious. Perhap's the thorn that pierces their wounded heart could be gently removed by an act of compassion and love.
This is a great night to gather with friends and have fun. As I mentioned, Leo is a fire sign and can ignite this Full Moon night. This is no time to play mind games with ourselves or with others. We all can become a bit self-centered during this time, so play fair. It is the Moon to entertain and to be entertained by going to a concert, the theatre, a sports game or a night on the town dancing. Sitting around a fire with a group of friends would definitely warm up the night.
The Sun in Aquarius (Freedom) is being mirrored by the Moon in Leo (Loyal Lion) and reminds me of the lion in the film Born Free. Don't we all just want to be...free? Maybe even a bit wild?
In the jungle, no lion sleeps tonight. Remember, not everyone can be the King or Queen of the Jungle all of the time, so make room on your personal stage to allow others to shine in the moonlight too!

thanks for this! everything here resonates with my Leo nature! I’ll keep this in mind to more effectively channel my Leo nature on the next full moon. Instead of creating drama at home I’ll recognize my action as a desire to play on a larger stage–I’ll take it outside. :-)
